Highlights of the September 2014 EBMA Board Meeting
The EBMA Board of Directors met in September for their Fall Board Meeting in Chicago. Highlights and outcomes of the meeting included:
  • The EBMA Board approved 6 new members, 3 Wholesaler Members and 3 Publisher Members. Please see above for member details.
  • The EBMA Board approved holding the cost of registration at the same level for the fourth year ($895). The board also instituted a late registration fee of $50 for those registrations that come in after December 10, 2014.
  • The EBMA Board also updated and clarified the membership qualifications on the website to make it clear that members may be in the business of distributing and publishing books and related media products can apply to join EBMA. A task force was also assigned to revamp the membership application forms.
  • The EBMA Board approved funding of the EBMA Annual Meeting mobile app to assist attendees with networking, access to materials, and seeing the schedule on their mobile devices. Please be on the lookout for more information about downloading and populating your profile on this app.
  • The EBMA Board also approved revisions and streamlining of the meeting profile forms. These forms will now be compiled through an online form with less information required. The profile books will still be published and distributed at the meeting but will have more room for taking notes.  This was a direct result of feedback from participants at the meeting over the past 3 years.
