Author


Jan Carr has worked as an Associate Editor in the book division of Scholastic Inc., and an Associate Editor/Writer in the magazine division of Children's Television Workshop. Before she became a writer, she worked as a Head Start Teacher, both in New York City and in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was also an Adjunct Instructor in early childhood education at the University of Cincinnati.

Jan Carr received her bachelor's degree in child development from Cornell University and went on to receive her masters in early childhood education from the University of Cincinnati. She was a Head Start teacher, and adjunct instructor of early childhood education at the University of Cincinnati, an assistant film editor, an editor at Scholastic and at Children's Television Workshop and a freelance writer before becoming a full time writer. She has published journalism in addition to her adult and children's fiction.
