2015 ANNUAL MEETING

The 2015 EBMA Annual Meeting was held on January 12-15, 2015 at the The Roosevelt New Orleans in New Orleans, LA. The meeting attracted 139 Publisher Members and 63 Wholesaler Members. The theme for the 2015 Annual Meeting was Making the Connection: Creating and Applying Content to Support Education.

Over the three days, publisher and wholesalers met over one-on-one sessions which are designed to facilitate business discussions. The one-on-one sessions have proven to be invaluable to our membership. One wholesaler said about the one-on-one sessions, "The one-on-ones are the core reason we attend, and we took full advantage of every opportunity for discussion."

On the opening night, members enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner and an award presentation that included the 36th Ludington Award Presentation to Mr. David Wiesner. Mr. Wiesner is an award winning illustrator and author whose most notable works include Flotsam (2006 Caldecott Medal), The Three Pigs (2001 Caldecott Medal), and Tuesday (1991 Caldecott Medal), all published by Clarion Books, an imprint of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Mr. Wiesner is one of only 2 author/illustrators to have won the Caldecott Medal 3 times. He has also won the Caldecott Honor 3 times: for Mr. Wuffles (2014), Free Fall (2009), and Sector 7 (2000).To learn more about the Ludington Award, David Wiesner or past receipients, click here.
