America Writes for Kids
AMERICA WRITES FOR KIDS! is a project of the Drury University School of Education and Child Development, supported by the Springfield-Greene County Libraries. Its goal is to promote literacy and creativity by introducing young readers, parents, teachers, and librarians to the work of "real, live" children's authors.

 

Authors and Illustrators Who Visit Schools
Authors and Illustrators who Visit Schools (AIVS) represents 28 professional authors and illustrators who present school programs. They also provide info about presentations, honorariums, references and book lists, and give contact web sites, phone numbers and/or addresses.

 

Authors4Kids.com
Provides author appearance info for 8 authors, giving recommendations, general information and links to author web sites.

 

Balkin Buddies
Arranges author appearances for about 70 authors and provides bios, photos, honorariums, information about author presentations, references, book lists, information on how to order books and how to arrange author appearances.

 

Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site
This former teacher's web site has a collection of reviews of great books for kids, ideas of ways to use them in the classroom and collections of books and activities about particular subjects, curriculum areas, themes and professional topics.

 

Class of 2k7: A Novel Approach to Debut Authors
The Class of 2k7 is a group of first-time children's and YA authors with debut books coming out in 2007. They're helping to promote each other's books with this joint Class of 2k7 website as well as a collective blog, newsletter, forum, chatroom, and brochure.

New England SCBWI Connections Directory
The Connections Directory lists children's book authors, illustrators, and author/illustrators available to speak to school groups in New England.

 

Purple Crayon
Harold Undertown offers advice, information and useful links for authors and illustrators of children's books.

 

The de Grummond Children's Literature Collection
at the University of Southern Mississippi website allows visitors to search the collection for specific authors, view highlights of the collection and follow links to author/illustrator sites.

 

The Internet School Library Media Center
site features an index to author and illustrator Internet sites and biographical sketches.

 

The Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators
website has information on membership, member events and links to member web sites.
